Employment Generation Program - EGP

Palestine Trade Center - Paltrade in cooperation with the Palestinian Enterprise Development (PED) project funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and implemented by Development Alternatives, Inc. (DAI), are seeking to train recent university graduates under PED’s apprenticeship program. 80 graduates will be selected and trained, and 66 of them will be placed in local Palestinian companies.

The Employment Generation Program - EGP aims at providing learning and employment opportunities to the unemployed graduates while supporting private sector companies and institutions through the infusion of fresh talents and skills in the much-needed area of marketing and sales. The program will subsidize the apprenticeship of qualified unemployed graduates, and additionally provide the apprentices with training and certification in the specialized field of marketing and sales. The program will focus on creating employment opportunities in marketing and sales as this field has been identified as crucial to SME survival and growth and yet in short supply in the local market.

The program aims to create short-term learning and sustainable job opportunities to the unemployed graduates that will develop into long-term job opportunities in the host enterprise. In addition to the on-the-job experience, the certification component of the program will enhance the performance of the apprentices while transferring knowledge in the specified fields within the host enterprises.

Program goals:

1.       Provide long-term employment opportunities for unemployed graduates.

2.       Upgrade the skills and capacities of the apprentices according to job market requirements for these fields

3.       Infuse qualified human resource from unemployed university graduates within the Palestinian private sector, particularly in the areas of marketing and sales.

4.       Strengthen Paltrade’s role in serving the private sector.
